taplog is a single-purpose mileage tracking tool for Uber and other business driving. It helps you log trips and estimate a tax deduction based on the distance you drive.
The deduction amount taplog shows you is calculated for convenience using the CRA's published per-kilometre automobile allowance rate. It is not tax advice, and taplog does not verify your eligibility to claim it. You are solely responsible for the accuracy of your own tax filings, including whether and how you report any deduction calculated by this app.
Trip distance is calculated either from your device's GPS signal (Live Track mode) or from the odometer readings you enter yourself (Manual entry mode). GPS-based distance is an estimate, not a certified measurement, and can be affected by signal quality, device hardware, and environment (tunnels, dense urban areas, etc.). Manual entry distance is only as accurate as the odometer readings you type in. taplog makes no warranty as to the accuracy of any distance, duration, or deduction figure it produces, regardless of tracking mode.
taplog is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't guarantee the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times — this is a small, independently-run app, not an enterprise SLA.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, samrath.ai is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages — including lost profits, lost data, or tax penalties — arising from your use of taplog. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose (currently $0, since taplog is free).
You must be at least 18 years old to create a taplog account. This app calculates figures relevant to personal tax filings, and we require account holders to be of an age where that responsibility is legally theirs.
You agree to indemnify and hold samrath.ai harmless from any claims, damages, or losses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of taplog, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.
These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia, Canada.
We may update these terms as the app evolves. Continued use of taplog after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
